Weekend wrap-up

What a gorgeous weekend! Saturday morning I had to work and the afternoon was filled with yardwork and helping a friend with his computer. Later we had friends and family over to celebrate Sarah's birthday. Good times were had by all! I was able to squeeze a quick run in later that evening, but had to cut it short by about a 1/2 mile due to darkness. It was still a good run though. No issues with the calves or ankles.
Sunday morning was cold and rainy. I headed out to watch the Michigan Multisport Championship. Those poor folks froze they buns off! I'm sure once they got moving they were fine, but beforehand, while they were waiting for their wave to start they just stood around shivering! I had hoped to see my friend Mike Muha run, but he wasn't able to due the previous week workload and not being able to train. Myself, I was able to get a run in later that day. I had planned on doing 12 miles, but at mile 1 I came across someone throughing away a perfectly good tube slide from their kids play structure. Their kids were grown and it wasn't wanted anymore. I asked the owners if I could take it and they said Sure. I sprinted home, snagged my neighbor Jeff with his truck, headed over there, loaded it up and hauled it back to the house where we sat it next to the play set. I then went and did my run. But because of time contraints I was only able to get another 4 miles in for a total of 6. Oh well, better than nothing I suppose. The rest of the evening was spent helping around the house and relaxing with the wife. It was a nice way to finish the weekend.
